Getting promoted in PGA couldn't be simplier. All a pilot has to do is pick a geographic area, San Francisco or Seattle. Then he or she flies all the prewritten Missions for their current rank in that area. They need to post their Charter Arguments and PIREPS to the forum as normal.
Somewhere in the prewritten charters a Navigation Exercise will come up. This exercise will direct them to fly using instruments in the region. There will be Turn Points listed and a final Destination, which is a mystery. As the pilot flies they need to write down where the Turn Points are. They also need to note the final Destination. Turn Points are either a prominate landmark that will show up in the sim or an airport. Destinations are, of course airports.
DO NOT Post the information for the Navigation Esxercises on the Forum. Instead, send it directly to your supervisor. They will check it and tell you if you passed or not.
Once you have flown all 25 missions for a given rank in one area AND passed the Navigation Exercise, you are promoted to the next rank.
No need for posting arguments, no cash is paid, no particular hours are needed to be flown. Just fly all the charters and pass the Navigation Exercise.
The hours you accumulate flying are their own reward. The cash can all be saved up to by planes, licenses, insurance etc. It can also be used to bribe the management.
