Sir,
I have recently read, with much interest, your article under the heading “Notes from Mr Boss” as found on the current front page of Pier Glass Aviation. I wonder sir if it might be my honour to take you to task over the remark, or part of it, in so much as you say:
I invite all of you to ponder the fact that gallinaceans do not fly.
Sir with respect that is not strictly true and it may be more correct to say:
I invite all of you to ponder the fact that not all gallinaceans fly.
Certainly there are some genuses of fowl, domestic or otherwise, that do fly. Some come to mind in fact that fly much better than the average Oakland Air Charter pilot, though I agree that may not be a hard prospect in real terms.
Whilst on the subject, well generally anyway, yesterday I heard the plaintive call of the Cuckoo, am I the first this year?
I remain as always respectfully yours.
The Old Man
