Is PGA in steep decline or is there another reason for the dearth of posts?
I feel like I'm writing a blog more than taking part in a Virtual Company!

It's the usual spring (or autumn, if you're on that end of things) slump, I think. People get busy as the seasons change, it seems -- I could plot the activity levels on a graph, I think!

Otherwise, Mr. Boss and I were out of town celebrating our anniversary (#5, already!), but I'm around. :heheh:

"HAPPY ANNIVERSARY"!! :partytime to Mr & Mrs Boss. Is it 5 years already??

Yes I is here still. The PC was disconnected and covered for a short period for some stripping and plastering. Another room transformed. Looks great but I have to paint it now. Only other news is the new broadband system is almost here in Oz ADSL 2. first few days of April I beleive. As soon as it is available I can wireless to the new PC which is sitting wrapped in plastic still. So between the house and my 'other life' things are on the up. And to add further joy, I have tomorrow off so in between choosing paint colors I have a charter to complete.

Cheers all

Darb

Oooh definately Happy Anniversary then!! I should have known, I had to cut the grass today, spring is breaking out like a rash after a very cold beggining. Nice to see a bit of life in the old PGA forum though!
Look forward to reading your Charter Darby! (Better than painting!)

Real-world aviation has been holding me away from the computer these days, although that is not entirely true because the Baron 58 in FS has been getting a workout due to my upcoming Command Instrument Rating.

What else is going on in the life of Chadza?

-Doing Final year Uni this year with millions of assignments- (think min 3500words and 1 week to do each one)
-Taking a short breather from flying after I got my CPL a bit under 2 months ago
-revising for my IREX 3.5 hr exam.
-Shortly after Easter will be getting back into the flying with a NVFR and initial twin on a B58. :-D

Adelaide is starting to get cooooold.

Adelaide.....cooooooold..... :fire: speaking of freezing in Adelaide Chaz I'll be there in August. Taking the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Adelaide and then the Ghan up to Darwin. So I'll have 1 night in Adelaide to sample the salubrious nitelife. I'll pick a hotel near the restaurant scene. But for now...back to Seattle.

Ok, since we're trading current events....
I wrote some software for FS9 using a 3rd party DLL which tanked three weeks ago, & I've been pulling my hair out as to why (The fellow even sent me his source). I'm just finishing up a real-world contract with another possibility in the wings...

And I've just been promoted to Commanding Officer for Helicopter Squadron-5 Virtual USN. I've got three pilots in the training pipeline, well, a fourth too - but he isn't coming to my squadron, so as an Instructor Pilot(yeah, another "promotion") I've been busy training both pointy nosed pilots and air beaters.

All this has left precious little time for my favorite thing - my daily flight for PGA. I am suffering withdrawal (I haven't done a flight in over two weeks) and tomorrow by hell or high water I'll take a flight!

For info - I've taken the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) airport directory and now I roll the dice for about 8 flights picking airports within CA and then arranging them in a logical order to simulate a day's worth of flights. Hold overs are 10 x two die rolls (ie 20 minutes - two hours). It usually means sun-up to well past sun down, but it works for me. Typically flights are about 45 minutes airborne, which fits my schedule nicely. I'm flying X-Plane for PGA and FS9 for the VUSN mainly because I love X-Plane's dynamics.

Nice to hear from all you old timers. PGA is still alive, it's just, well, undercover. We need new blood!

Hi. Uh...my name is Rick and I'm a pilot for Pier Glass Aviation...

Group responds "Hi, Rick. Welcome to __________" Enter the name of your favourite 12 step program here.

While you're all used to my absences, this year has been a little different. Almost a year ago (3rd of May), I donated a kidney to my twin brother who suffers from polysystic kidney disease. He'd been without both kidneys since the December before and relied on dialysis. While we count it as a success, we've both had setbacks and problems. My wife and I have been trying to relocate closer to his family and to our parents, some 4 hours away. This has taken the bulk of my time while maintaining 50hr work weeks to earn enough money to help me keep on the bleeding edge of technology so I can fly...in PGA... :ponder: Geoff's right; we could use an infusion. Just as long as they take kindly to our eccentricities... Good to hear from all of you.

I tell you what, I don't think we could get a more diverse bunch of people in "one place" that we have here!

If only we had a member from outer mongolia......

Well, we DO have a couple of Elbonians... will they do? :-p

Incidentally, Mac and Cherry just had rugrat #2 make an appearance in January, and little Daisy is definitely shaping up to be a handful. :eyes:

Now, I have GOT to get my act together and figure out a better setup for my rudder pedals...

the left one goes on the left and the right one on the right. Usually works best if they are on the floor too.

Oh, is THAT how it's done? Here I've been trying to wear them as earmuffs... makes it a real bitch to add rudder, I can tell you! :whack:
