With Out of the Way Water Taxis out of the way, a few more charters have been rolling our way. Barney delivered the following to my desk/broken disused coffee table.

KBFI-83Q-KSHN. Caravan Amphib. 4 pax to Poulbso then supplies and two fisherfolk to an inner lake just east of Sanderson. More possibilites at Sanderson. 54 nm @$15.00 = 810.00. very strong rolllll 3.

PIREP

At last the weather was a little better than rain and the trip was very pleasant. The passengers for Poulsbo were very glad to be on their way and as I helped them out of the plane I gave them a few hastily made up PGA business cards.

The guys going fishing were very pleased that they did not have to cancel their trip and so it was a happy flight to the lake near Sandersen. The lake (once they pointed it out) seemed bit short for a water landing but with the attitude known to PGA pilots 'I gave it a go'. Everything was fine and I taxied up onto the beach at the southern end and disembarked the passengers and all their gear. What a great workhorse the Cessna caravan is.

Now to communicate with Barney and see what else he's got.

ARGUMENT

I contacted Barney by radio to learn a team of 4 real estate people having been stranded by the collapse of Out of the Way Water Taxis are very desperate to get to Lake Tapp which is East of Mchord AFB and just short and a little bit west and above Flying H Ranch. It seems a very stately home on one of the small islands in the lake is up for grabs and they are keen to get a signature from the owner before other real estate people find out about it. Once I drop off the passengers deadhead back to base. I need to hop across to Sanderson to get this charter under way.

KSHN-WN42-KBFI. Cessna Caravan. Party of 4. 42nm (first leg) @ $15.00 =630.00 / 21nm (2nd leg) at $5.00 = 105.00 all up 735.00.

"whats that crackling and hissing noise Barney?"
" Its just a small :lightning building up east of you. fairly common in these parts but don't worry. If you hurry up you'll just get the bumps without any drama"
:-( Oh great. Weather is building storms ahead of my flight path lower argument 1 from Very strong to strong. Rollllllll 3.

Waving good bye to the fishermen. "So long boys, hope you catch plenty and thanks for the tip"

Barneys description of 'little storm to the east' was a little off the mark. The building storm/s were spread all around making the turbulence unpredictable. Visability however was not too bad. I was able to keep the Tacoma Narrows bridge in sight to my left and by keeping the Mchord Base VOR to my right I was able to get straight to the lake near Flying H Ranch. It was a surprisingly calm landing despite the distant lightning flashes and thunder. I hurredly dropped the real estate people off on the island, said a quick prayer for the stately house for sale owner and took off immediately for Boeing Field.

Seems my little prayer worked for me instead as the storms kept their distance and I got directed straight in for R31L. Staying ahead of the 737 following me in was a worry but I figured well if I take my time he may get ordered to go around. And waddayano? Thats exactly what happened :p
