If anybody may be interested and still flies with FS2002 and who also has the full Lago FSSE Package.

I have started to make (for my own enjoyment) some FSSE PGA Locations which I am more than willing to share should you like a copy. I intend over time to make all PGA Locations. I have so far made the following locations:

Darby`s Place
Secret Location 48
Gnoss
Concorde (Buchanan)
Rio Vista

I should add that these are just for fun and only my thoughts on how I might like the PGA FBO in these areas to look. You may have different ideas and are of course free to add, move, delete anything you wish.

If you would like a copy of one or any of these FSSE then add a reply to this message saying which or any of them you wish and add your e mail. I will then send it/them to you by an attachment to the e mail address you give. The attachments will be a WinZip file. You will need to unzip and read the ReadMe file, (Secret Location 48 has clues to where it is)

As I make more locations I will add them to the list here so check back often.

Any considerations for FSE 2004?

Good Day Sir,
Sorry I do not have FS2004. I do know that Lago has now produced and (I think released) the new FSSE Version for FS2004. I also know from reading the Lago forums that the new 2004 FSSE will NOT work with FS2002 due to it also including sound files.

However that said wether FSSE (2002 version) will work with FS2004 I am unsure and you would still need the full version of FSSE in any case.

You could try I suppose and should you wish to then I will forward any locations that you wish but of course I will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to your computer. or any other equipment.

For your original question, no I have no plans for any 2004 sceneries. FSSE or otherwise.

Thanks all the same. I've purchased the 2004 version and was wondering out loud if anyone else might aspire to make sceneries in 2004 as well. Guess I'll just dip my toe and see what freezes. Good to see the Old Man around again... 8)

I'm working on FSSE for 2004 (in Alaska). And I'd be happy to post any files on my web site - If anyone wants to publish them (either 2002 or 2004) or any other flight sim let me know via email. I'll give you a user name and password and then you can upload the files directly to my site. There is a link on the links page to the PGA scenery database that's take you there so you can see what is stored there.

I do want to make a change to include a field for the type of flight sim it's for (and so you can specify it as a search item), but for now the ending of the filename (ie .SE1 or .SE2) can tell you what sim it's for. I'd also like to add a tag for realism level - ie how close to the real airfield it is like. In 2002 I used AFCAD and FSSE to precisely model some of the airfields if I had diagrams available. However, most fields are too small - so I put a building or two and some junk lying around. Eventually I hope to populate big airports with tons of stuff - but I want to fly too - so I only do the gates where I taxi to/from.

Let me know if you want to add your files to the PGA database via email.

Good Evening Sir,
Many thanks for the information re you’re making of some 2004 FSSE and the information re your web site. I am sure many pilots with FS2004, or should that be FS 9, I am always unsure what to call it, will be pleased at this news.

Unfortunately my efforts are not as grand as yours. I am only attempting to place a PGA FBO at each location, nothing more. Certainly not to recreate the whole airport or airfield environment. I use UT and so it makes no sense for me to add gates or AFCAD etc as UT provides all that plus of course the AI traffic.

I look upon my own 2002 FSSE as nothing more than adding a PGA FBO and leaving the airport or airfield as default as possible. Thus it remains with the end user then to be able to use or add any extras as he may wish UT or other Air Traffic systems, Mesh, Landclass or whatever to suit either his needs or those of his computer system.

I might encourage anyone not to look at my 2002 FSSE as the final and definitive PGA FBO at any given location but rather as a starting point. The user has the choice to leave it as it is, add, delete or modify or even move the FBO to his own wishes and again to maintain frame rates or allowances for any other add on he (or she) may have.

Thank you for the kind offer of hosting the FSSE on your web site but as each file (so far) only amounts to some Kb it is really not necessary.

I do take your point that without care the making of scenery with FSSE can become obsessive and often at the cost of flying time. However that may not be a point I would wish to raise too loudly in public areas, you never know when SHE may be listening.

I've already been tinkering with an FBO at Valdez, Geoff. Would like to see your ideas. Like the Old Man, I'm more of a purist with the fields. An FBO, a dilapidated hangar and maybe a fuel barrel or two...

Hey guys. I downloaded and installed the newest FSSE for FS9 and noticed that most of the models you place are the same as they were in the FS2002 version. Not bad I guess, just wish there were more GA planes to place around. Also, where are people (not just PGAers) uploading their files too? All of the downloads I have found at the Lago site are for the FS2002 FSSE.

I see uploaded FSE files on the front page of the newly updated Lago site, in the bottom left corner titled "Files Exchange". Is that what you're referring to?

Ok, before I get carried away this is what I do. I check the real airport layouts, if available and add any taxiiways and buildings according to the charts using FSSE. Someday I'll figure out how to make my own buildings, people, etc - but It's enough work just to get the buildings and stuff correct. I add, using AFCAD (Which I see I didn't post many - if any of) parking areas as needed. Wherever FS directs me to park I put in stop lines, add some animals, cars, etc as whim prods me. Usually I then leave the airport from some other parking spot and spruce it up too. Sometimes if I'm on a mission such as a Medevac - I'll put an ambulance, police car, firetruck in the area as well.

I've only had the public version of the FSSE for fs2004 - I just purchased the full blown one and am awaiting the activation number so I can use it.

On smaller airports (which is most of them) I add a building - maybe a tower, some lights, a cow or two. But at Valdez I'm planning on going whole hog - er - cow and have motion objects - maybe sound. Push the envelope.

If someone has already started a field - aka the old guy - I'll elaborate on it and post a newer version. I would recommend that if you modify a posted airfield you add a V (version) number to the file name.

Now when do I get started? Thank goodness for autopilot as I write this.

Flyin' high over Alaska in the dark. Cheers

You know, guys, it seems to me that I've got about 630MB of unused space left here, so why not use it to host some of these sceneries? :ponder: Geoff already has his good works up and available, but we could get everyone else's together here and I can create one glorious page with links to everything. Much easier than trying to figure out who has what and mucking about with emails all the time.

What do you think?

Captain Geoff

Hey Boss - sure. You have access to a database - you'll want the files to be searchable I presume. I wouldn't mind shifting my files to the site either. Most of the files *are* quite small.... but after you get a couple hundred searching becomes important.

However you want to handle it. I've not had time to create anything yet - and I'm still waiting for Lago activation. I'm gonna shoot them an email in the morning if I don't hear from them.

Many Greetings you’re most Ladyness, you are but a beacon of light in our darkness, your radiance is brighter than the brightest jewel in the night.

I bring you many greetings from far off lands.

Do you mean to say you would wish the FSSE sceneries to be sent by the fastest messengers in the kingdom to your grand and most deserved palace for you to look after on behalf of lesser mortals such as my most unworthy self.

I bow and scrape in your presence and as always remain your most obedient and humble servant.

Well, after several hours screwing around with Lago FSSE I've finally gotten it working. Now I've just got to get some more things done and it'll be ready soon.

The Valdez airport now has a snow plow in action and will have follow-me vehicles to guide PGA pilots to our parking spots near Peggy's.

And yep, Boss, there are cows - but not in the dead of winter!

I got sound working too so the cows'll moo too woo hoo! BBQ for the first one to kill a cow. Oh and as I found out don't let a plow run into your plane. it'll ruin your day.

Hope to have everything up and running by end of week, with luck.
