If it does, fly that aircraft for the charter.

Intsructions: These charters are designed to be flown in order, from BCPT01 to BCPT25. If you are a Captain, then you must fly all of these charters in numerical order or the SCPT charters to be promoted to Senior Captain.

Hey, this is Junior. Yes, I know what time it is, but this is an emergency. A freight train derailed at Walnut Grove just north of Spezia. It’s a big mess. Some railroad people need to get there in the next hour to start sorting things out. Congratulations on your promotion by the way! Call Louie at Sacramento when you get in, he'll let you know what's happening.

MISSION#: BCPT02 DEPART: Spezia (2Q2) ARRIVE: Spezia (2Q2) TIME: Dawn

PGA Sacramento, Louie speaking. Hey there, Captain! Thanks for calling. Junior told me you were on the way. I just got the call from the railroad company. They are sending some big shot from up North to supervise things at Walnut Grove. He is arriving at Davis Junction in half an hour and a car will take him to University (0O5). Get over there, pick him up, and then get back to Spezia. Phone me again when you get back.

Note: This charter has a deadhead leg. It pays the $5/nm rate with no double payment allowed. The second leg is a normal charter so pays standard fare and double payment is allowed.

MISSION#: BCPT03 DEPART: Spezia (2Q2) ARRIVE: San Jose Int. (KSJC) TIME: Afternoon
CLOUDS: Scattered PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 20 nm WIND SPEED: Moderate
WIND DIRECTION: 320º RATE/MILE: $5 DISTANCE: 55 nm PAYMENT: $275
PROFILE:
PGA Sacramento, Louie here. Oh good. It’s you. Listen, Junior just called. It seems the Boss is all fired up about something and wants you back there like yesterday! Well how do I know? Why don't you just march into her office when you get there and ask her yourself? Yeah, you are deadheading. I don’t have a charter that gets you back to San Jose and like I said the Boss wants you back there right away. Now scoot.

Note: This charter is company business and so only pays the $5/nm rate. No double payment is allowed, either.

MISSION#: BCPT04 DEPART: San Jose Int. (KSJC) ARRIVE: San Jose Int. (KSJC) TIME: Dusk
CLOUDS: Scattered PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 20 nm WIND SPEED: Moderate
WIND DIRECTION: 315º RATE/MILE: $10 DISTANCE: 125 nm PAYMENT: $1250
PROFILE:
Hey there, got those railroad people all straightened out? Good. No, the Boss ain’t here. She's been called away on an urgent matter. Yes, it is more important than talking to you. She told me what you need to do though. The FAA is going to be doing some inspections at local airports. Mr. Seathem, the local inspector, will be here shortly and he wants to inspect three airport approach and landing systems. The airports are Reid-Hillview (KHRV), San Carlos (KSQL), and Napa County (KAPC). Fly to each in turn and perform one touch and go at each then return here. We would normally charge the FAA $15 a nautical mile, just to get back some of our bribe money, but the Boss said to go with standard rate. She really wants this contract for some reason.

MISSION#: BCPT05 DEPART: San Jose (KSJC) ARRIVE: San Jose (KSJC) TIME: Morning
CLOUDS: Clear PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 30 nm WIND SPEED: Light
WIND DIRECTION: 225º RATE/MILE: n/a DISTANCE: n/a PAYMENT: $300
PROFILE:
The Boss wanted me to congratulate you on that FAA Inspector's flight. Looks like we will get the contract. As a reward she wants you to do the test flight on this King Air. I had this job down for someone else but she overruled me. Now listen good! This plane just came back from overhaul this morning. It has practically new everything, and a fresh factory coat of paint. Don’t scratch it if you know what’s good for you. Take it out over the ocean, well outside of the Bay Approach Control area, and put it through its paces. High and low speed, stalls, slow turns, fast turns etc. You know, just like your normal flying. Ok, Ok, just joking. You should take at least 30 minutes or more, but make sure you really give it a workout. Note any points of interest you find in your PIREP.

Note: You must fly the King Air on this charter. It is company business and pays the flat rate given. No double payment allowed.

MISSION#: BCPT06 DEPART: San Jose (KSJC) ARRIVE: Sonoma County (KSTS) TIME: Afternoon
CLOUDS: Few PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 20 nm WIND SPEED: Moderate
WIND DIRECTION: 90º RATE/MILE: $5/$10 DISTANCE: 27 nm/130 nm PAYMENT: $1435
PROFILE:
Well, another day another job as I always say. Got some nice passenger work for you today. Yep, knew you would be pleased, but you really need to clean your plane before you go. And wash that smudge off that new white shirt. Why are all you pilots so scruffy? No, don't bother answering. Here's the charter. Go to San Francisco International (KSFO) and pick up passengers then take them to Sacramento Exec (KSAC). Once you are there, everyone except a Miss Westerdale will get off. Fly her on up to Santa Rosa. Make sure you check in with Al when you get there.

Note: This charter has a deadhead leg. It pays the $5/nm rate with no double payment allowed. The rest is a normal charter so pays standard fare and double payment is allowed.

MISSION#: BCPT07 DEPART: Sonoma County (KSTS) ARRIVE: Davis/Woodland/Winters (2Q3) TIME: Dusk
CLOUDS: Scattered PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 10 nm WIND SPEED: Moderate
WIND DIRECTION: 315º RATE/MILE: $10 DISTANCE: : 52 nm PAYMENT: $520
PROFILE:
So, how's things with you? I see the weather’s starting to close in again. Still, I don't suppose it will bother a pilot of your skill and ability. In fact, I think you might need some of that skill before you’re finished tonight. There's a conference of farm land management tomorrow at Davis/Woodland/Winters. A few of delegates need to get there tonight. Hop up to Allan Ranch (CL36) and pick up Mr. Allan. Then drop down to Graywood Ranch (CA39) and pick up Mr. Graywood Senior. Then go over to Inglenook Ranch (O44) and pick up, hey you guessed it, Mr. Inglenook. Then get them on over to Davis/Woodland/Winters.

MISSION#: BCPT08 DEPART: Davis/Woodland/Winters (2Q3) ARRIVE: Palo Alto (KPAO) TIME: Dawn
CLOUDS: Few PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 20 nm WIND SPEED: Light
WIND DIRECTION: 190º RATE/MILE: $10 DISTANCE: 68 nm PAYMENT: $680
PROFILE:
PGA Sacramento Dispatch, Louie here. Oh, it’s about time you called in. I know you are a Captain and all, but you have to stay in touch with us dispatchers. Anyway, it’s not too late. A Professor Jabber from the University of California should be showing up there soon. He needs to get to Palo Alto to give some talk. No I don’t know what he is going to talk about. And you don’t need to know either. Just fly him there.

MISSION#: BCPT09 DEPART: Palo Alto (KPAO) ARRIVE: Hayward Executive (KHWD) TIME: Morning
CLOUDS: Few PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 20 nm WIND SPEED: Light
WIND DIRECTION: 190º RATE/MILE: $10 DISTANCE: 12 nm PAYMENT: $120
PROFILE:
Junior here. Oh, glad you called. I got an express job for you. There should be a box of sports clothing there. The other pilot couldn’t get it all in his 172 earlier. That box needs to get to Hayward Executive right away. They need it for some sort of presentation they are doing this afternoon. Should only take you a few minutes to get there right?

MISSION#: BCPT10 DEPART: Hayward Executive (KHWD) ARRIVE: San Jose (KSJC) TIME: Morning
CLOUDS: Few PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 20 nm WIND SPEED: Light
WIND DIRECTION: 135º RATE/MILE: $10/$5 DISTANCE: 43 nm/23 nm PAYMENT: $545
PROFILE:
Junior here. Oh, it's you again. Good. There should be a group of hikers standing around there. They need to get down to South County (Q99) as soon as possible for the start of the Bay Area Charity Hike. No, I don’t know why they don’t just hike down. But you’re getting paid to fly them, so don’t give them any ideas. After you drop them off fly back up here to San Jose, I’ll have another job for you then.

Note: This charter has a deadhead leg. It pays the $5/nm rate with no double payment allowed. The other leg is a normal charter so pays standard fare and double payment is allowed.

MISSION#: BCPT11 DEPART: San Jose (KSJC) ARRIVE: Flying B Ranch (8Q6) TIME: Afternoon
CLOUDS: Few PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 20 nm WIND SPEED: Light
WIND DIRECTION: 90º RATE/MILE: $10 DISTANCE: 63 nm PAYMENT: $630
PROFILE:
Hey there Captain. Glad to see you. Here’s your next job, and it's well suited to your new rank. See those crates over there? No, not the 172, wise guy, those wooden packing crates! OK. They're full of frozen food, all sorts, ham, beef, chicken, ice cream, things like that. Get them up to Flying B straight away so the folks up there can get their freezers restocked. What's that? No, you've got it wrong. Being a Captain means you know how to load your own plane without dirtying up that nice white shirt. Now get cracking, I think that stuff is starting to defrost.

MISSION#: BCPT12 DEPART: Flying B Ranch (8Q6) ARRIVE: Rio Vista (O88) TIME: Dusk
CLOUDS: Few PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 10 nm WIND SPEED: Light
WIND DIRECTION: 45º RATE/MILE: $5/$10 DISTANCE: 37 nm/29 nm PAYMENT: $475
PROFILE:
PGA Sacramento, Louie speaking. Hey! Glad you called... what's that? What, all the frozen food? Well I expect it would, some of it anyway... oh, most of it, you say. Well can’t you just wipe... oh, tried that did you? Well, you're a Captain now, you think of something. No, you've got that wrong. Being a Captain means you know how to clean your own plane without getting that nice white shirt all dirty.

Anyway, we just stole this job from OAC. Get on over to Moskowite (41Q) and... hello? Are you still there?... Hello? Ah, thought we had been cut off. Anyway, yes, need you to run on over to Moskowite... that's right, Moskowite, are you hard of hearing? Oh. Well, I only dispatch the jobs, and it's not my problem what the runway is like. Right, so at Moskowite you'll collect a giant bonsai redwood tree... yes, that's what I said, a giant bonsai redwood. Well, yes, I know bonsai usually involves somewhat smaller trees... well, alright so very small trees, but apparently Vaso Pianta is famous for her somewhat unconventional approach to bonsai, and she wants this tree in a show that's going on in Rio Vista this week. No, I don't know how big it is, but I'm sure it will fit. Just take care you don't break off any bits.

Hold on just remembered there’s a NOTAM out for today. Ah, here it is. There's low military flying in area around Travis AFB. So you need to stay out of their airspace. What’s that? Well I guess you’ll just have to go around it won’t you?

Note: This charter has a deadhead leg. It pays the $5/nm rate with no double payment allowed. The other leg is a normal charter so pays standard fare and double payment is allowed.

MISSION#: BCPT13 DEPART: Rio Vista (O88) ARRIVE: South County (Q99) TIME: Night
CLOUDS: Few PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: : 10 nm WIND SPEED: Light
WIND DIRECTION: RATE/MILE: $10 DISTANCE: 67 nm PAYMENT: $670
PROFILE:
PGA Sacramento, Louie here. Oh, good, you got back then. How was the tree? It was? You did? Well then how... no, as the Boss always says, if you have to ask then you don't want to know. What's that? You say you nearly ran down two goats that are tied up near the end of the runway eating grass? You didn't hurt them, did you? No? Well, good, because they're your last assignment of the day. What do you mean; those goats are not going into your aircraft? Not only are they going into your aircraft but they're going all the way to South County in your aircraft! Oh really? Well, if you will just hang on I will conference in the Boss and you can tell her yourself. Just take a minute... just leaving were you? Now that's more like. Well I don’t know. Don’t you have seat belts or something? Being a Captain means you're able to handle any kind of cargo without letting it eat your nice white shirt.

MISSION#: BCPT14 DEPART: South County (Q99) ARRIVE: Funny Farm (4CA2) TIME: Dawn
CLOUDS: Overcast PRECIPITATION: Light VISIBILITY: 10 nm WIND SPEED: Moderate
WIND DIRECTION: 315º RATE/MILE: $10 DISTANCE: 52 nm PAYMENT: $520
PROFILE:
Junior here. Right, there you are, was wondering when you were going to call in. Expense account? What for? What do you mean a new shirt? You had a perfectly good one on yesterday. Well, I suppose you can ask the Boss... you don't say? Well, now isn't that nice. Should be a family called De Vere turning up soon. They need to get up to Funny Farm where they're going to stay with some friends. Yeah, just husband, wife, and couple of kids. You think that’s them arriving now? Good. What? A dog too, well that's just the family pet I expect. What do you mean big? Of course I know what a Shetland pony looks like, and it looks nothing like a dog! Shetland ponies don't growl either, what on earth are you talking about? Well, stuff it in back or something, it's not my problem. Being a Captain means you know just how to deal with these little inconveniences without... well, now there you go! I see you're getting the idea now.

MISSION#: BCPT15 DEPART: Funny Farm (4CA2) ARRIVE: Sacramento Executive (KSAC) TIME: Afternoon
CLOUDS: Overcast PRECIPITATION: Moderate VISIBILITY: 10 nm WIND SPEED: Moderate
WIND DIRECTION: 300º RATE/MILE: $5 DISTANCE: 97 nm PAYMENT: $485
PROFILE:
PGA Sacramento Louie here. Do I have a what? Lint brush? What for? Oh. I think the other Captains just use duct tape.

Get yourself on over to Angwin-Parret (2O3) and pick up a load of handmade ink pens.... Yes, ink pens. Apparently some deal the Boss has worked out with a local co-op up that way to supply the Seattle area dispatchers with pens. Well, you know how it is, everything up in Seattle is computers, can't get a decent pen up there for less than $60, and then it's hit or miss if it even writes, might be one of those laser pointer things. Yeah, heard Walter set fire to a whole stack of dispatch reports with one of those last week.

Bring the pens on up here to Sacramento Exec where they will be cross-loaded onto one of our other planes for a flight up to Boeing Field. No, you can't take it to Boeing Field yourself, you're needed down here, can't have you charging off to Seattle just because you feel like it!

Note: This charter is company business and so only pays the $5/nm rate. No double payment is allowed, either.

MISSION#: BCPT16 DEPART: Sacramento Executive (KSAC) ARRIVE: : Napa County (KAPC TIME: Dusk
CLOUDS: Overcast PRECIPITATION: Moderate VISIBILITY: 5 nm WIND SPEED: Strong
WIND DIRECTION: 270º RATE/MILE: $10 DISTANCE: 41 nm PAYMENT: $410
PROFILE:
Hey there, Captain. I see you made it. You look a little wet. Well, anyway I got a nice short trip for you this evening. Just a short hop down to Napa. If you say it’s a nice little place, it’s a nice little place. Me, I think if you’ve seen one airport you’ve seen them all. Just a place with a stretch of tarmac and some lights. Well, alright then, they're not all like that. No, I wouldn't know if Moskowite has tarmac or lights. No need to get touchy.

Anyway... say, why do you start that twitching whenever Moskowite gets mentioned? Oh yes you do. In fact, you're doing it now. You are! Look at your hands, and there... see? You're starting to sweat. Alright, change the subject. No need to get testy.

This lot of old office furniture has come down from Boeing and the Boss has managed to offload.....uh, sell it to some kids' club. Yeah, I thought it was pretty clever too. So shove off now. You're dripping on my carpet.

MISSION#: BCPT17 DEPART: Napa County (KAPC) ARRIVE: Sonoma County (KSTS) TIME: Morning
CLOUDS: Scattered PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 10 nm WIND SPEED: Moderate
WIND DIRECTION: RATE/MILE: $10 DISTANCE: 31 nm PAYMENT: $310
PROFILE:
Al here. Hi, how are you feeling this morning? Oh good, Hey that’s right! You’re a Captain now and can afford a motel room now and again.

OK, over there are three plastic 25 gallon drums containing yeast and malt brewing slops. Got to bring those up here to Santa Rosa for disposal and to have the drums specially cleaned. Almost full to the brim they are so be careful! You don't want to spill any of that stuff. Mm, yep, they smell a bit don't they? Reminds you of a party you went to in San Jose does it? Whew must have been some party if it smelt like that!

Well, you had better get going. Lids? What lids? I don't know anything about lids. That’s the way they came. Are you sure there are no lids? Well, OK if you say there are no lids then there are no lids. What do you mean what are you going to do? I would suggest you fly carefully. You wouldn't want any of that lot spilling. Hey, I thought you were a Captain -- I would've thought you'd learnt to fly straight and level by now.

MISSION#: BCPT18 DEPART: Sonoma County (KSTS) ARRIVE: Davis/Woodland/Winters (2Q3) TIME: Afternoon
CLOUDS: Scattered PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 10 nm WIND SPEED: Light
WIND DIRECTION: 45º RATE/MILE: $10 DISTANCE: 45 nm PAYMENT: $450
PROFILE:
What’s that smell? You been to a party or something? I don't think you should fly if you've drinking. What are you talking about lids? What lids? There aren't any lids. Look, see? No lids! What do you mean you know there are no lids. I know there are no lids. It says right here on the manifest, "no lids". And sure enough, no lids. What do you mean that’s the point? Are you sure you’re feeling OK? Not been overworking have you? It turns some to drink you know. I’ve seen it happen time and again.

Alright, got a nice little trip into the country that might do you some good. A consignment of paint and decorating material for DWW. What's that? Lids? Oh yes, the paint has lids. What's this thing you've got about lids?

MISSION#: BCPT19 DEPART: Davis/Woodland/Winters (2Q3) ARRIVE: Petaluma (O69) TIME: Dusk

PGA Sacramento, Louie here. Oh, good thing you called in. Yes, I know you thought you had finished for the day, but this has just come in and it's urgent. A young girl called Alice Liddell, who lives in Thornton, just east of Spezia, is staying with her grandparents in Bloomfield, which is west of Petaluma. It seems young Alice has left a small bottle of medicine on a table in the hallway, and her mother noticed it only after Alice had left. Simply must have it, I guess. Anyway, the child's mother will meet you at Spezia with the medicine, and the grandparents will meet you at Petaluma to collect it.

Note: This charter has a deadhead leg. It pays the $5/nm rate with no double payment allowed. The second leg is a normal charter so pays standard fare and double payment is allowed.

MISSION#: BCPT20 DEPART: Petaluma (O69) ARRIVE: Sonoma County (KSTS) TIME: Dawn

PROFILE:
Hey, is that you? Of course this is Al. Who else were you expecting a call from? Really? Long distance you say. It would have to be. Well, never mind, she'll have to wait. You're gonna love this one... What's that? Yeah, it's raining here too, but don't worry, the office here has a good tight roof and I'm keeping dry.

Now get yourself over to Blake Sky Park (CA57)... What, do you have a problem with that? I didn't think so. There are two crates to bring up here to Santa Rosa. Yep, as a matter of fact I do know what's in them. That's my job. Any other questions?

Note: This charter has a deadhead leg. It pays the $5/nm rate with no double payment allowed. The second leg is a normal charter so pays standard fare and double payment is allowed.

Hey, have you heard the news? Some high-finance wheeler-dealer types may be putting a package together to do with PGA and Aircraft finance. Yeah, it's all talk at the moment but the Boss is involved in this one, so maybe there's something to it. Anyway, those guys are going to a weekend retreat... No, I don't know why they don't just go fishing. But those retreats are where the real business gets done you know. You tidy up right quick... you DO own a comb, don't you? What's that? A what? Oh well, do what you can then and give them a nice ride. The Boss says she wants these guys kept happy so think before you speak.

MISSION#: BCPT22 DEPART: Borges-Clarksburg (C14) ARRIVE: San Jose (KSJC) TIME: Afternoon
CLOUDS: Scattered PRECIPITATION: None VISIBILITY: 10 nm WIND SPEED: Moderate

Hey, this is Louie. Now listen, I don't know what's going on but the Boss herself has just phoned. Get yourself back to San Jose straight away. No I don't know why. When the Boss phones I don't ask why I just say "Yes Boss" like everyone else. Shall I have her call you? I didn't think so.

Note: This charter is company business and so only pays the $5/nm rate. No double payment is allowed, either.

MISSION#: BCPT23 DEPART: San Jose (KSJC) ARRIVE: Sacramento Executive (KSAC) TIME: Dusk

PROFILE:
Hey there Captain, the Boss wants you to fly her up for the meeting with those finance wizards. She would normally fly herself, but she has to go over some figures and such before she gets there. She also thinks it would make a better impression if someone else flew her in. Why she thought of you and good impressions in the same day, much less the same sentence, is beyond me.

Anyway once you fly her there, stay the night. If she doesn’t need you any more hop over to Sacramento Executive in the morning. I think you’ll be surprised.

Note: This charter is company business and so only pays the $5/nm rate. No double payment is allowed, either.

MISSION#: BCPT24 DEPART: Sacramento Executive (KSAC) ARRIVE: : Lake Berryessa (Q86) TIME: Morning

PROFILE:
Hey there! I am Senior Captain Lukexcom, the head of TOOTSD, part owner of PGA and member of the BOD, chief communicator with HAL, and... well you understand I am important, right? Here, have a doughnut. Careful it’s stale. Don’t want you to chip a tooth on it. Here, have some coffee. That’ll soften it up some. Why are you making that face?

Anyway, I guess the Boss is impressed with your work. She says you are ready to become a Senior Captain. Well, we shall see. We shall see. Follow me to that Lake Renegade parked out there. Do a preflight on it and then take me up to Lake Berryessa. Take the Lake up to the Lake, hey hey, that’s funny. Oh never mind.

When you get to Lake Berryessa do five touch and goes in the water. On the last one, make a full stop and taxi over to the dock. I’ll tell you what to do from there.

Note: This charter is company business and so only pays the $5/nm rate. No double payment either.

MISSION#: BCPT25 DEPART: Lake Berryessa (Q86) ARRIVE: ? TIME: Afternoon

Those were interesting water landings. Next time make sure you flip the doohickey on before you land or take off from the water. I don’t know, but it makes Marie happier. And when Marie is happy, we are all happy. Kinda like the Boss. Okay, the second part of your qualification check is a navigation exercise. Follow these instructions exactly.

Takeoff from Lake Berryessa and intercept the Sacramento VOR inbound radial 90.

Depart Sacramento VOR radial 169 for 12 miles. This is Turn Point 1.

From Turn Point 1 fly heading 279 deg for 23 miles. This is Turn Point 2.

From Turn Point 2 intercept Scaggs Island VOR inbound radial 120.

Depart Scaggs Island VOR on radial 277 for 12 miles. This Turn Point 3.

From Turn Point 3 fly heading 134 deg for 37 miles. This is Turn Point 4.

From Turn Point 4 intercept Oakland VOR outbound radial 146 for 16 miles. This is your destination.

Remember the headings are "true" and you will have to allow for the wind. Note the prominent landmark or airfield at each Turn Point and your final destination. Submit this information to your Supervisor. DO NOT POST IT ON THE FORUM!!! !

If you navigated correctly and got all the Turn Points correct and ended up at the correct airport, then you can deadhead back to San Jose to be promoted to Senior Captain by the Boss and get issued your Roy Ban Sunglasses. Congratulations!

If you messed up somehow, then deadhead back to Lake Berryessa and give it another shot.

Note: You only get paid for the mileage if you successfully complete the check ride. You log the hours for all your attempts, but gain cash only for correctly navigating the ride.

Here's the page where you can roll the die, if you don't have one yourself. Don't you play Yahtzee?
